WELCOME TO MY HEAD!

You know how a candle illuminates a darkroom and how water refreshes the soul, that is how the word of God is. It has so much power like any weapon of warfare and it is so genuine, sincere and honest, not minding any other school of thought.  Just like how you need a map to navigate your way so is the word of God used to show the path to take in life. It also helps to remedy our mistakes and uplifts us in times when we are weak and sad.  I recall what Jesus said about how we shouldn’t live by bread alone but by every word that comes from God’s mouth and I completely agree with that. On several occasions, God has made use of His word which is filled with insights and contains so many directions to guide me in the right path.

It is just 11am and the day just seems to be dragging terribly, unfortunately I don’t even have a lot to do at work and I know that I can’t possibly leave so I decided to take a walk. I don’t even have a destination in mind but what I would have loved to do is to get away from everything, run away from everyone.  All I can visualize right now is a vast empty space with nothing and no one in sight, where I can just be on my own. Where I can be still, where I can let my tears flow with no restrictions. Where I can scream so loud and maybe even play with the sand or run with no one thinking I’m crazy. I wish I could just teleport and find myself there.  I hate that I feel this way, I hate that my heart feels like it is shattering to tiny pieces like a broken glass, I hate that everything seems to be falling apart. I hate that I have to pretend that I’m fine. I hate that I have to walk back to the office with a fake smile plastered on my face, but I guess that’s all I can do right...

I had just put the last batch of cupcakes in the oven when I heard the doorbell ring. I went to answer it and I saw the post man with a parcel. He said hello and I responded and then he asked if he was at 1313 State Street  Santa Barbara, I was almost irritated because the address was clearly written on the door but I just nodded And then he proceeded to ask if I was Ms. Saylor Rodgers of Sweet Cheeks CupCakery. I replied that he was correct and then he handed me the parcel and asked that I signed. After I had done that he left.  I looked at it and wondered what could be in it and who it was from Cos it was quite heavy and I had not made any purchases in recent times.  I sat down and proceeded to open it and you can imagine the shock on my face when I opened the envelop attached to it and saw an invitation letter.  It couldn’t be possible.... A couple of years ago, 6 years to be precise I had to embark on a trip to the eastern part of Nigeria. This trip was a business trip and I was going to meet a prospective investor for my business which was just coming up. I was super excited about this trip because it had a lot of prospects. My flight was really early, infact it was the first flight of that day and I had to get to the airport very early.  I woke up very early and I was able to leave my house just at the right time and got to the airport at a good time, I was quite proud of myself considering I had missed a couple of flights in the past because I was late.  I checked in my luggage and then proceeded to wait for my flight to be called.
